Cruzeau Blanc 2015
France >Bordeaux >Pessac Leognan
(WS=89) A very fresh style, this is unadorned and pretty, offering gooseberry and white peach flavors streaked with a jicama note and backed by a lingering quinine hint on the finish. Sauvignon Blanc. Drink now through 2018. 6,000 cases made. (RP=86-88) The 2015 Château Cruzeau Blanc, another wine from the André Lurton stable, has a pretty granitic, white flower-tinged bouquet that opens gradually in the glass. The palate is fresh and very malic on the entry, citrus-fresh with moderate complexity, Granny Smith apples and smoke on the Sauvignon Blanc-driven finish. Not bad at all, although on reflection it comes across as a tad conservative.
